Exactly one month ago on June 17th., 7News was at court when Ronlee Petillo beat another murder rap, and scooted away from court a free man. IT was the second time he had gotten off murder – in that case for the 2011 killing of a market vendor.Â
Well, he has been charged again – this time for the murder of Roger Banner. Banner was killed 10 days ago on West Canal in what police say was a drug related shooting. Today the officer commanding southside told us why they believe it’s Ronlee again:..

"Sir now Ronlee recently came off a murder in which he on remand I think 5 years. Are you saying that he went to a murder right after he came off of a murder?"

"Well that is what we are receiving, our investigation has pointed directly towards him and so resulting from our investigation we have laid charge against him yesterday for the murder of Roger Banner."

"Sir you have mentioned other person that it was a hit. Have you all been able to come up with any other names?"
ACP Chester Williams- O. C. Eastern South
"Well we basically have the idea where the hit came from but due to the lack of evidence you know we cannot go by what we know but based on the evidence we have. So we have been unable to tie the other person to the murder itself except for Ronlee Petillo."

"Sir now street sources are saying that this same person Ronlee Petillo was involved in a murder that happened the night he was released, the one that happened on North Creek. Had you all been investigating him for that?"

"That's the one that happened on Kraal Road you mean and we have also received that information but again due to lack of evidence we have been unable to make progress in that investigation."
28-year-old Ronlee Petillo of #100 George Street in Belize City will be arraigned for the crime of “Murderâ€. He will then be remanded, after one month of freedom following a five year remand.
