The Taiwanese have given the government of Belize another gift. This one is 5 million US dollars to assist with infrastructure programs, namely the Belize City Southside Poverty Alleviation Project Phase II, the extension of the Southern Highway – Golden Stream, Jalacte to the Guatemalan Border in the Toledo District, and for the Santa Elena/San Ignacio Downtown Bypass Road Project.
The cheque was handed over by ambassador Benjamin Ho to Prime Minister Dean Barrow yesterday in Belmopan.
