Last month we reported that BTL finally found its newest CEO. The search for the new head of the company started six months ago after then CEO and current member of the Board of Directors Anwar Barrow, announced his resignation. Barrow officially stepped down from the position in February, but no replacement had been found, so company CFO, Ivan Tesucum acted as CEO in the interim. In April, BTL finally found its new leader in European Rochus Schreiber, a 20 year veteran in the telecommunications industry. 

BTL held a press conference today to formally introduce Schreiber as CEO. Here's what Schreiber had to say about the transition and his goals...

"My first priority, first job when I came here was to meet with as many people as I can, with as many employees and customers and interact to learn about what it is they want. It's to learn and interact about their needs and their desires about what works, what doesn't work for them and understand what it is the difference, what is the gap between what we are doing and their needs. Then the second part to this journey is to work with our teams to listen and to encourage them and to bring out the best in the teams. The people that I have met are tremendously passionate. At the agric show they were working from early morning to do a fantastic stand to deliver great experience for our customers and this is something which is unique. I haven't seen too many sales people anywhere else in the world who are willing to work in searing sun, in a hot environment and interacting with the customers with a smile on their face, no matter what challenges, what questions the customers have and this is the type of staff we have here. These are the type of professionals we have here who will go the extra mile. So the job for me is to encourage and nurture this environment and weave together with a great technology which we are now bringing into the company to create an end result which will be a tremendous fiber optic modern communication infrastructure which delivers mobile, wireless and fixed line experience to our customers which is second to none in the region."
