Pamela Lino’s Family Worries As She Remains Missing
posted (May 4, 2017)
Pamela Lino's family has been in suspense since Tuesday when police found burnt human remains in her torched car. The mother of one and teacher at Belmopan Baptist hasn't been seen since Monday. And then, early on Tuesday morning, her KIA Sportage was found brunt at mile 21 on the Western highway. Now police haven't confirmed the identity of the burnt remains as yet, but the family is fearing the worst. Tonight, they are torn between the hope of her safe return and that growing possibility of her loss that's gnawing at them.

Today in Belmopan, a family member told Courtney Weatherburne what they know and what they fear:...

Voice of: Family member
"For our family we are dealing with a likely loss of a family member and we would dearly like to put closure to this."

Courtney Weatherburne, 7News
"Are you all still hopeful that maybe she will come back or you all have somewhat accepted that you have lost her."

Voice of: Family member
"We always live in hope. So long as there is the Almighty, there is hope. God knows all things. All things happen for the better. We are hopeful, but again, the logical thing is to expect the worst."

Courtney Weatherburne, 7News
"Let's say it is her remains in the burnt vehicle. What are some of the thoughts that are going through your mind? Do you have any idea who (if this is the case) would want to harm her that way or take her away from you all?"

Voice of: Family member
"No. I don't have any idea really. I don't have any idea at this point in time. Pamela was a friend of many people and I don't know of any situation or any persons who would like to do that."

Courtney Weatherburne, 7News
"Any issue she had with anybody, whether in her relationship or anything at all that would come to mind would lead to this tragedy?"

Voice of: Family member
"Not that I have any concrete evidence. I don't know at this time. I like to thank God for the strength that he has given our family to cope with distress that we are in at this point in time. I like to also thank the Belizeans all over, friends and relatives and especially the community of Belmopan for their outpouring of support for the situation that we are in. I particularly like to thank the police for the work that they are doing."

Lino's only daughter arrived in the country today. Now, we do know that Pamela Lino had been in the middle of a dispute centered around her house. As we understand it, a man wanted to use the house for 6 months until he and his family could find suitable accommodations. He wrote up an agreement proposing as much which she did not sign.
