Corozal police are investigating a DRAMATIC kidnapping and robbery which happened yesterday. The victim is a 23-year-old cane farmer named Emir Rosado of Ranchito Village. He told police that around four PM, he and two Belizeans from Corozal: 26-year-old Eder Stevenson, a Land consultant and cane farmer 31-year-old Eliazar Hall were kidnapped by four men who pretended that they wanted to buy a vehicle from them in Ranchito.

The person they had been talking with showed up first to talk business, and then three men pulled up armed with 2 long firearms and a pistol.

They stole 13 thousand dollars in cash, a blue Infinity Sedan valued at 15 thousand dollars; jewelry; cell phone and wallet, all totaling over 33 thousand dollars.

They tied up the men from Corozal and two of them were stuffed in the trunk of the Infinity while Eder Hall was placed in the back passenger seat. He managed to untie himself and swiped a gun from one of the suspects. When the vehicle came to a stop, he chased one of the assailants into a lot within Carolina Village. The driver of the vehicle then drove off. The men in the trunk managed to escape at a pedestrian ramp in Calcutta village.

Police found a Nissan X-Terra abandoned in a farm close to Camp 1 in Shipyard, Orange Walk. They believe it was being driven by a couple of the assailants. That vehicle had been stolen from a businesswoman of Ranchito Village.

Police recovered a black Smith and Wesson pistol and a magazine with several live rounds. Police have detained three suspects pending charges of kidnapping and robbery. They have recovered some of the jewelry stolen. One of the men was found with over 6 thousand dollars in cash.
