And to cap off the weekend killings, there was a savage murder in the northern Toledo District. On Sunday night at 7:45, 21-year-old Armando Alvarenga was found lying dead in the bushes outside of Bella Vista village. He met a cruel death: he was shot twice in the chest, and then viciously chopped to both his shoulders. Worst of all, he was chopped to the neck and almost fully decapitated.
It was a ruthless attack and Independence police have detained a number of persons because Alvarenga had problems with men in both Bella Vista and Trio Villages. Police recovered a damaged bicycle, a machete and two 9 mm expended shells at the scene.
