On Friday evening, twenty-two year old Kensworth Castro, went to KoKo King Restaurant and Lounge, one of Caye Caulker's newest party spots. At around 5 that evening bystanders noticed Castro on the swings under one of the lounge's palapas, and advised him that he was swinging too high and could get hurt. He ignored the warnings, and continued swinging. According to reports, Castro eventually swung too high, banged his head and crashed off the swing. Observers say that Castro got up and looked around before heading over to the edge of the palapas.
After a few minutes bystanders went to go check on Castro, finding him unconscious and foaming at the mouth. He was quickly transported to the Caye Caulker Health Clinic for treatment, but was pronounced dead just after 5:30.
