And while Narda Garcia was in the court of appeals - the Maya of Conejo and
Santa Cruz were in the Chief Justice's court. Three bus loads of Mayas came
from those villages to show support as community leaders from the affected villages
gave testimony before the Chief Justice. They are asserting their inhabitation
and collective use of the land over centuries. Testimony was heard today from
villagers as well as community leaders such as Greg Choq and Christina Coc.
The hearing continues tomorrow afternoon.
