Anglican Bishop Explains The Minority Position
posted (June 8, 2017)
Two nights ago, we told you how the Church State Commission on Public Morality has hit a major snag after two Bishops withdrew from the commission. President of the Council of Churches, Bishop Roosevelt Papouloute, and the head of the Anglican Church, Bishop Phillip Wright, have withdrawn. Yesterday, Bishop Wright told the media why they felt they had to:

Bishop Phillip Wright, Bishop - Anglican Church
"Both bishop Papouloute and I, well during the meetings and the minutes would record it as well, we were constantly being recorded as, for lack of better word, a minority voice. But I think we both came to a position where we felt that in order to properly represent our understanding of some of the concepts we were dealing with as well as how to state some of these concepts, that we would step back and formulate a report on our own. The Anglican Diocese will come back to the council of churches and I think as a council of churches, we are likely to issue a paper on our position on some of the salient issues that we are talking about."

We are told that the Commission still plans to put its final position paper forward to the Chairman, Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber. It's left to be seen if he will accept it without the input of two key church groups.
