Senior Cop's Son Had Kush By the Pound Say Police
posted (June 15, 2017)
Today the son of one of the Police Department's highest ranking officers was charged for drug trafficking in the Magistrate's Court. It happened yesterday when Police raided an apartment building on Vernon Street to search for illegal firearms and drugs. After sweeping the ground floor, the cops proceeded upstairs and knocked on a locked metal door blocking the corridor. After identifying themselves the cops asked to be let in, but the residents refused.

One of the officers, PC Gongora, then removed some louvers from a nearby window and climbed around. The officer then peeped into one of the rooms where he observed two men, later identified as Noel Leal Jr., son of Deputy Compol Noel Leal, and Ralph Belisle. Gongora allegedly saw the men wrapping something in in clear plastic, and ordered them to open the metal door. When the men refused again, Gongora entered through the window and noticed several more plastic wrapped parcels. When they saw the cops storm in, both Leal and Belisle attempted to escape, but Gongora managed to cut them off at the locked metal door.

After gaining access to the room, the police found around 14 pounds cannabis and identified a high grade strain called "Kush" which is known for its high street value.

Leal and Belisle pleaded not guilty to the charge of drug trafficking in court today and were released on $4000 bail. This is the second time Leal has been charged for drug trafficking this year. In April he was caught with 10 1/2 ounces of cannabis by a police mobile patrol, but was released on bail.
