For years, as the General Secretary of the Football Federation of Belize - Michael Blease was considered the most powerful man in football. And he made many enemies - who swore that once his ally and former President Rupert Vicente was gone, Blease would follow. But that didn't happen, and Blease survived for over a year under acting President Marlon Kuylen. But that run is done. 7News has confirmed that Please was terminated by the League Executive yesterday. Reports say that the executive could be planning a complete purge and as many as four or five other FFB staffers could also be shown the door.
This comes just as the Corozal, Orange Walk, and Cayo Associations, along with the Premier League of Belize have requested an urgent extraordinary congress. These are the same four bodies who refused to participate in the last controversial congress.
