The Public Service Union has emerged from a messy internal dispute to elect a new president at its 95th Annual General Meeting held over the weekend in Belmopan. She is Doreth Obermayer Cayetano who beat out Gerald Henry by 7 votes in a close race. Herman Pastor - who chaired the meeting in place of outgoing president Eldred Neal - remains First Vice President, while Jerome Lozano is second Vice President and Fayne Nicascio is Secretary General.
185 members attended the meeting in a union which is said to have a membership in the thousands.
