Today 48 kids graduated from the GREAT summer program. It's an ongoing initiative spearheaded by the police to keep Southside youth away from gang life. The program began on August 7th and the participants had a packed 3 weeks with all kinds of fun educational activities. The officer commanding the Community Policing Unit Inspector Elroy Carcamo told us more about the objective of the summer program.
The program was sponsored by The Youth and Community Transformation Project and the US Embassy.
