There was a major traffic accident on the Phillip Goldson Highway on Saturday, which left two vehicles completely wrecked, and put 3 people in the hospital.
It happened within Sandhill between miles 14 and 15 at 10:00 am.
Police say that 65 year-old Avril Alexander was northbound in a red Ford pickup when she lost control and slammed into an oncoming car, driven by 25 year-old Bayardo Orozco, from Ladyville.
The front end of the car was destroyed and Orozco suffered a broken right leg, and a cut to his right forearm. Avril Alexander complained of pain all over her body, and her passenger, 61 year-old Arnufo Manzanero, told emergency personnel that his was experiencing pain in the chest area.
The accident caused traffic to be blocked up for miles and - upon seeing the wreckage - passersby commented that it was fortunate no one lost their life.
Police have not said if any notices of intended prosecution have been issued to either driver.
