The terrible wave of deadly gun violence continues in the St. Martinis Area Belize City. There has been another broad daylight shooting - and, again, the victim was shot in the head. Somehow though, he is still alive tonight at the KHMH - where he is in the operating theater and doctors are trying to save his life.
28-year-old Burrel Boom resident Cardinal Andrews was shot in the back of the head this evening around 4:00 on Partridge Street at the junction with Patridge Extension. Andrews was reportedly socializing outside a friend's house.
It was a panicked and frenzied scene on the street - where bystanders rushed to his aid. They put him inside a police mobile which appeared on the scene almost immediately.
Andrews was rushed to the KHMH and is currently in critical condition. Another police mobile which appeared on the scene - darted off in search of the shooter.
Again, despite the shot to the head which exited through his forehead, Andrews is alive tonight but in a critical condition.
Police have made no arrests so far. We'll have more tomorrow.
