posted (December 5, 2017)
He's got a famous name, but Russell Hyde Jr.'s grandmother says that didn't factor into him being shot last night in San Ignacio. At around 8:00, the 24 year old was at a meat shop when a shooter appeared and fired several shots. He survived and is in stable condition at the Western Regional Hospital. But, today his grandmother told us that he may have been lured there:

Haledora Cruz, Grandmother
"When he got shot they called me and tell me he got shot in San Ignacio."

"He left by himself from here and then somebody for me call him and tell him let him come and he went and that's when the person who shoot him attack him."

Courtney Weatherburne
"So they called him out there to go to Cayo and that is when the incident happened, when they shot him?"

Haledora Cruz, Grandmother
"He only reach to Santa Elena and it's right there it look like the guy was following him I don't know then right there they attack him, shot him, shot up his vehicle, they say the vehicle shot up I don't know if it's true because I no see it but they say they shot up the car."

"He got shot under his belly and he got shot on this foot and when I went to see him in there he had 3 holes on his foot and then they did a surgery that last a couple of hours where they had to open him and they can't find the bullet, so they said they don't know where the bullet went somewhere so."

"Well his condition they say that he is stable just that he has a fever. But I don't know if he had an infection or something right."

Courtney Weatherburne
"You know why anyone would want to Target him?"

Haledora Cruz, Grandmother
"I don't know because everyday my grandson is at my house and I don't know him as anybody that does trouble to him, he do to them or they do to him I don't know because he goes to my house everyday, he is not a bad child, he is not a bad child so you know what I hurt because I don't like them do that."

No one has been arrested.
