There was an uproar on Maylflower Street in Belize City this evening when resident form the gang affiliated Ghost Town area clashed with police. Passers-by called our cameras out to the area because residents were looking to clash with police who had to call for backup.
When we got there the excitement had subsided - but what triggered it was when a woman police contactable tried to arrest a female resident of the area. Her neighbors weren't about to have it - and they pounced on the police. In the end, the cost superior numbers forced them to back down and the uproar was defused without incident.
