Police Say Accused Cop is a Colleague and a Human
posted (January 29, 2018)
So, as you saw in our story, the protesters were up in arms about reports that the PG police were fundraising for PC Aranda.

It was a repeated refrain during Saturday's event that the cops were holding barbecue sales to help him pay for a defense attorney.

Family and friends of the victim interpret that as the other police officers somehow condoning his actions. So, we asked the police spokesperson about it. He said that the officer is a human and a colleague:

Alejandro Cowo, OC - CIB
"I don't see anything wrong if they want to do a fundraising. It's a normal human being. It is just like Ms. Hortence mentioned, if it's a colleague, everybody will try to assist, noh? We are human beings."

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"Although the society sees him as a demon. The community, sorry."

Alejandro Cowo, OC - CIB
"Yes. Yes. Well… (shrugs)."

Constable Aranda is out on bail of $10,000 dollars, and he will have to return to the Magistrate's Court for the next adjournment of his case.
