He's already serving on the Social Security Board of directors, and now Dylan
Reneau will do the same for Belize Electricity Limited. Reneau has been named
one of the Social Security's appointed directors on BEL's Board. Because it
owns 27% of BEL, Social Security gets to appoint two directors. Belize Electricity
Limited announces the appointment of Dylan Reneau as director on the company's
board of directors as of the second quarter, 2006.
Chairman of the Board, Robert Usher, welcomed Reneau to the board saying that
"his experience in business and labor relations should be an asset to
the company's administration." Reneau was appointed by the Social Security
Board, which, by virtue of its shareholdings, has the right to appoint two directors
and appoint replacements for such directors in the event of their resignation,
retirement or removal.
Fortis Inc. of Canada, through various subsidiaries, owns 70% of BEL, SSB owns
27% and the remaining 3% is owned by other corporations and small shareholders
in Belize. The BEL Board of Directors is presently comprised of Chairman Robert
Usher, Deputy Chairman H. Stanley Marshall and directors Richard Hew, Philip
Hughes, James Lea, Karl Menzies, Dylan Reneau, Yasin Shoman and Lyn Young.
Reneau is also president of the Public Service Union of Belize, General Secretary
of the National Trade Union Congress of Belize, a director of the Belize Social
Security Board and was President of the Caribbean Public Service Association
for the period 2005 to 2006.
