On Friday's news, we told you about the disturbing case of the 4 year-old girl from Bella Vista Village in the Toledo District. She was in the hospital for a serious heart condition - but examinations showed she was also the victim of sexual abuse.
She became the 5th victim in less than 3 weeks making national headlines as part of a spike in reports of violence and sexual abuse against children.
And, tonight, it gets more disturbing.
Police have learned she was not the only girl at the residence to have been molested. Today, the Head of the National Criminal Investigations Branch told the media that an 11 year-old child, who lives in one of the 3 houses in the same yard, was also sexually abused.
Here's how he explained it today:

"I also want to provide an update in relation to the sexual assault case of the 4 year-old special needs child that was brought from the south. Police have since commenced an intense investigation and have since detained 3 persons for questioning. Police also conducted several other medical examinations on other females living in the said house, and it was determined that an 11 year-old female was also sexually abused. Police investigation into this matter is still ongoing."

"Are these custodies members of the family?"

"Yes, we would say, and whilst the scene was visited, it is observed that at least 3 houses are in the yard, an unfenced yard, and these were the 3 males living in the yard at that point in time, who were brought in, pending this investigation."

"At this time, police suspect that the abuse inflicted upon the children were caused possibly by relatives."

"Well, this is the first angle we're looking at, however, we are still following up on any new information that has come forward in relation to this investigation."
As we told you, the first child, the 4-year-old, was hospitalized at the KHMH due to a congenital heart condition. She has a hole in her heart. She had been hospitalized for some time, but the sexual abuse was not discovered until last week. Doctors discovered that she had been abused, both vaginally and anally when they examined her last week.
