The Bar Association of Belize - may not be known for its sterling social conscience - but today it issued a release crying out against the rash of extraordinary violence against children.
The release says it condemns all acts of violence, physical, emotional and sexual abuse…inflicted on the very young and the vulnerable of our society.
The release adds, quote: "the Bar calls on parents, guardians and all members of the public to be vigilant in the attention, protection and care given to children..."
They hasten to add, though, "everyone is entitled to a defence and is by law deemed innocent until proven guilty."
