The Barrow Administration has been criticized for not saying anything about the recent spate of violence targetting women and children.  

Well, the UDP issued a statement this evening saying, quote, “Violence and abuse of women and children should never be the subject of party political back and forth….It is the responsibility of every person to act to stop the ongoing incidences of violence and abuse against women and children that are hurting some of the most vulnerable members of our communities….- our children.”

And to extend on that, the UDP says it wants you to wear white, not red.  

The UDP’s National Organization of Women has launched a campaign  to, quote, “prevent, protect and support women and children against violence and abuse.”  

They want you to support the campaign by wearing something white every Friday of the month. They say that when worn for campaign, white will show “the commitment of the wearer aligning him or herself to never commit, tolerate or condone violence and abuse against women and children.”
