And while the Commissioner of police already defended the police's position that the cops had no hand in the killing of Kendis Flowers, we also got an account from the senior officer on the scene, ASP Alejandro Cowo.
He says that police have statements and surveillance video to demonstrate that they had no hand in the killing:

"Based on the investigation. I am 100% sure that there was no police involvement in the death of Kendis Flowers. They can confirm this by the several statements from the persons who were along with him at the time of the shooting."
"I cannot tell you if the gun was placed there. I know when I went to the scene I saw that firearm on his body. Yes, he had an injury to his finger. Whenever the postmortem is conducted the doctor would be in a position to tell us if that is a gunshot wound or what kind of injury or what may have caused that injury to his finger."
"Yes, the firearm that was found had a live round on top of his leg and there was a magazine containing live rounds, and one on the chamber - but the one on his leg. The shells that were recover, I cannot tell you if it was from his firearm or from the other person until we do the comparison."
By "comparison," he is referring to ballistic tests.
