"On Saturday, the 17th of March 2018 after 5pm, upon the information received of someone being shot at Gibnut Street. Police proceeded to the location where they observed a Brian Welch with a gunshot injury to his right upper chest. As a result, police transported him to the Karl Huesner Memorial Hospital where he is still admitted in a stable condition. What we have gathered so far is that Mr. Welch was walking on Gibnut Street heading towards Curassow Street when two male persons approached him from the direction of Dolphin Street into Curassow on a motorcycle. One of the passengers fired several shots at his direction causing the mentioned injuries. For this investigation, police have detained two person whom are being questioned at this moment."
Police say Welch does not live in the area; he lives in Belama, and they don't have motive for the shooting.
