He told us that for him, boxing and community outreach are equally important. We also spoke to the Director of Machaca Outreach Center down South who coordinated Garcia's visit.

"I'm very happy being here, helping the team from the church is great and has been wonderful. I do try to be available to help the community as much as possible. When my friend Hector told me about what they do, what the Hands program does and his church for the communities here, I felt like I had to be a part of that. I try to do as much as I can even at home especially speaking to the kids and different age groups at schools, boys and girls clubs, youth centers, that kind of program back in California. I try to reach out that way and I just felt that because of who I am in the sport of boxing, I have the opportunity to reach out to many kids who I consider the future of this world. If I can impact their lives in any way, I'm there to do that. That's why I came here and that's the purpose for me being here, to help as much as I can. I'm working with the team, building play grounds, trying to help with this BBQ for the community. There's other teams working on different projects, a home that didn't have a roof. We're able to fund them a roof for their home, I'm trying to help as much as I can. I'm using boxing as a platform to help the world."

"We've been in the country for 15 years. We're known for Machaca Outreach which is known for summer camps. We're known throughout the country where kids come in between 60-800 and we do camps for children with disabilities. Our heart and passion is to help change communities. We believe that a strong village is a strong community and a strong country. We're just trying to do something that can develop and raise up to what people know and to give a helping hand."

Garcia has 38 wins, zero loses. 30 of them are by knockout. He says he is certainly planning on returning to Belize.
