And while that large imprint of violence defies comprehension, far from the center of Belize City violence, a well known businessman was found murdered last night in a residential neighborhood at mile 8 on the George Price Highway.
64-year-old Mario Guerrero was found dead in his own yard at Sunset Park. Sahar Vasquez has more:

Mario Guerrero Senior was a talented sea captain known for his skill in traversing calm or rough waters. The 64 year old owned the popular boat service named Guerrero's Charter Service, but his mastery of the seas was of no help last night when two men pounced on him in his yard at Sunset Park.

"Upon arrival they visited number 1234 Sunset Park which is a boatyard area. They observed the motionless body of a male person lying on the ground under a tent. The person had multiple injuries to the head and was bleeding profusely. Also beside him was pieces of a broken stool."
It is believed that while out socializing Guerrero met two persons - who ended up at his home - presumably trying to steal his vehicle.
Reports say surveillance cameras captured the whole incident. While outside under a tent in the yard the two men then hit Guerrero with a bar stool; the blow was fatal - and his son came to the house to find him dead just before 9:00.
They took his phone and his keys. Surveillance video shows the men trying to steal the vehicle, but they were unable to so they ran off on foot.
Today, family friends were on the road searching for his phone - which is believed to have been thrown in this area.
Guerrero's family declined comment. The police say they are looking for two men.
