The Search For Seguro
posted (March 26, 2018)
Tonight, a family from Biscayne village in the Belize District continues to worry about the wellbeing of 64 year-old Alfred Seguro. He left his house last week, and hasn't been heard from for 5 days and counting.

His family tells us that he's a stroke victim, and ever since that event, he's had a habit of wandering around the village, but he has never gone missing for more than an overnight.

This morning, we found his family and police searching in the bushes behind Biscayne.

His niece told us today that they are hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst possible outcome:

Larrybelle Spencer - Family Member
"The last time the family saw him was Thursday night 9 o' clock more or less."

Reporter
"Is it very unusual that has missing at this time?"

Larrybelle Spencer - Family Member
"Not necessarily, he has been going and coming, but somehow it was taken for granted. I want to believe that he would come back because he would normally leave the house, night, morning, anytime and he would just come back or sometimes it would take the neighbors to bring him back knowing his condition."

Reporter
"What condition is that Ma'am?"

Larrybelle Spencer - Family Member
"Basically, he suffers from seizures and from time to time he would not be thinking like any normal person would think. He would just operate like a child somewhat again."

Reporter
"So, you all think that maybe he wondered out on one of those sessions and is somehow not able to get home?"

Larrybelle Spencer - Family Member
"It's just an unfortunate situation in the sense like the family took him for granted that he would come back like all the other times, but unfortunately this time it never happened."

Reporter
"Has he ever been missing this long before?"

Larrybelle Spencer - Family Member
"No, it's the first time, the longest he was ever missing was just an overnight and he was found next door to the home."

Reporter
"I'm guessing you all are hoping for the best but preparing for the worst if that should ever happen."

Larrybelle Spencer - Family Member
"More than likely yes but, whatever the case, we want to find him."

Reporter
"Why this particular area Ma'am?"

Larrybelle Spencer - Family Member
"This particular area, is because this is like behind the BTL tower in Biscaye. He has been working there as a security some years ago and from time to time, he would say I need to go on clocking, so we are thinking maybe that's one of the times he thought maybe I need to go on clocking, so we are looking in that area."

Reporter "So, you think that you guys suspected that, he thinks maybe has still on the job?"

Larrybelle Spencer - Family Member
"Yes, more than likely. Today we began from basically Washing Tree Road that's basically about half mile from the place where he was last seen about 11 o' clock the Thursday night. So, we have been going from there which is like a mile, mile and a half to the BTL tower. Just trying to go through all the feeder roads, that he could possibly be wondering in."

Just a few minutes ago, we spoke with his daughter who told us that the search hasn't yielded any real results. She told us that they intend to go back out tomorrow, and every day until they find him.
