The house meeting didn't end until 11:35 on Friday night - an excessively marathon two day event. But the Prime Minister wound up the budget debate about an hour before that.

Today, Briceno told us that those family land holdings from 2002 - including his father and uncles, Leopoldo, Eligio, Eudaldo and Graciano Briceno actually date back to the 70's. He says they only appear on the files as 2002 because that's when the land registry system was consolidated. He said they are all cane farming lands. He adds that his uncle Leopoldo died in 1995, so he could not have engaged in any land transactions in 2002.
