Grown Man Murdered In The Middle of A Warzone
posted (March 29, 2018)
44 year old Emmerson Anderson is the latest murder victim. He was shot and killed last night around 8:00 at the long Barracks on Ebony Street - which is an area well known for warfare between rival gangs.

Anderson was hanging out with friends when a gunman barged in and opened fire. Residents say they heard as many as 10 gunshots ring out. I found out more.

Courtney Weatherburne reporting
Today, panades vendor "Money" went on his usual run but he wasn't at ease after last night's shooting:

"Money", Friend
"I heard gunshots and I people screaming and I got down on the ground."

'Money' and 3 others including 44 year old Emmerson Anderson were all hanging out in this Ebony Street yard when a gunman opened fire on them - hitting Anderson in the stomach. Money says he didn't see the attack coming.

"Money", Friend
"I had my back turn like this and it happened right in those directions where those tress are at in front of the dirt box that is where they pick up all the shells."

"I didn't even see where, they sneaked up on us. Most of the time we are right there so they must have set that up or something because most of the time we are right there."

Anderson's family don't believe he was the target because they say he has no trouble with anyone.

Voice of: Aunt
"He is not bad, he too quiet, he no trouble 'puss nor dog', he doesn't quarrel you don't even hear him curse bad words."

Courtney Weatherburne, reporter
"So you don't believe your nephew was the target?"

Voice of: Aunt
"No I don't think so."

Police also don't believe Anderson was the target.

ASP Alejandro Cowo, Head of CIB
"So far we are trying to establish what can be the motive. We know that Mr. Anderson is not involved in any gang and does not have a history that we can speak about."

Reporter
"Do you think then that he was the target or someone else in the group?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo, Head of CIB
"We believe the target was somebody else who was with him."

So as police try to wrap up this case, Anderson's family and friends are left in pain and shock - and this now solitary table which was Anderson's favorite spot to play dice - will forever remind them of their loss.

Police are looking for one person in this case. As mentioned earlier, there have been gang rivalries in the Ebony Street area but as you heard Anderson was not known to be a member of any gang.
