Police Say Victim Had Many Enemies
posted (April 3, 2018)
And police say his murder may be as a result of a number of previous altercations. They told us more.

ACP Joseph Myvette - Head, NCIB
"On Sunday, the 1st of April, police were called to Buena Vista Village in the Cayo District, where, upon arrival, the body of one George Hyde, 36 years labourer, of the said village, was seen on a verandah with multiple chop wounds to the head and body. The scene was processed and the body was removed to the San Ignacio Community Hospital. Police have since detained 4 persons, pending this investigation, which is still ongoing at this time."

Daniel Ortiz, reporter
"Why is it that the investigators are treating it as a death investigation? Isn't the signs of violence on the victim's body indicative that he was killed?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"Yes, but, the investigation can take several angles, based on the evidence gathered, hence the reason we have arrived at that conclusion until, when the post mortem is finished, and the documents submitted to the DPP, in order for her directives."

Reporter
"Any motives so far for that matter?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"From our understanding, there seems to have been several altercations which the deceased was involved in earlier, prior to his murder."

Reporter
"And the 4 persons that are detained, do they have injuries, any chop wound injuries?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"No injuries were observed."

Daniel Ortiz
"Is he somebody known to police, or is this a law abiding citizen who has no record?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"He is known."

As you heard 4 persons have been detained.
