He pleaded guilty to wounding his ex-girlfriend, and got a small fine plus probation - but when he did that forty-year-old Russel Casimiro surely didn't know that was just the beginning of his problems.
The San Pedro resident and tour guide has been blasted on Facebook for the injuries he caused to his ex-girlfriend thirty-year-old American Carrie Tripodi.
Even the Prime Minsiter's wife, as special envoy for women and children has weighed in and criticized police for losing the medico legal rpeort and not chargin him for burglary. Well, police have already told us that their investigaiton shows that she let him into the house - so there was no evidence - they claim - for burglary. But now, the police department has also stated that the Medico Legal form was not lost. The Police have not indicated if there will be any other charges.
Today the Belize Tourism Board also sent out a statement regarding Casimiro. It has been reported that Casimiro was a licensed tour guide but BTB made it clear that he had not been licensed as a guide since 2015. They say he is not legally authorized to conduct any tours or perform any functions of a tour guide.
