And while their double murder has the appearances of being related to the drug trade - last night in the Belize District a suspected drug plane made a landing. It happened somewhere in the broad area between mile 10 on the George Price Highway and the Coastal Road - perhaps all the way up to LA Democracia.
Hattieville residents heard the plane flying low and circling. They alerted police. Commander of Operations Deputy Commissioner Chester Williams told us that multiple units responded and forged out into the bushes. He said they saw a large plane descending - and then about 20 minutes later around 9:00, it took off again.
Police set up checkpoints on the Coastal and Western Highways, but they didn't intercept anything. Around 9:10, a large plane was seen flying south off the coast of Belize City.
