Community Policing, Yankee Style

From meet and greet sessions every Wednesday to youth camps and outreach programs - it's fair to say the police are pushing hard with community policing, but it doesn't hurt to get a few more tips on how to make this approach more effective. Yesterday Southside Commander Howell Gillett and his team got some fresh perspectives on how community policing is done in the US. Here's more from yesterday's US Embassy's presentation at the Queen Street police recreational hall.

And keeping up the community effort, today Southside Police took 23 school kids to the Belize Zoo, quote, "to see another way of life outside of Belize City." A release adds, quote, "Our intent is to positively impact the lives of all young people living on the South Side of Belize City one child at a time. Transportation is always a challenge but we continue to work around it."
