Operation ACT Re-Deploys to Contain Crime on Northside
posted (April 18, 2018)
Operation ACT rolled out in Southside Belize City at the end of October - and it's still going. But, now the Commander of Operations, Deputy Commissioner Chester Williams is making a major shift: he's deploying some resources to the northside. This is after two murders happened there between last week Wednesday and Sunday. Today Williams told the press about the re-deployment:...

DCP Chester Williams, Commander of Operations`
"We have observed over the past couple of weeks that majority of the shootings were occurring in region 2 and we can no longer continue to see region 2 operating on its own and we have now dovetailed their operations into ours with some strength in it to ensure that we able to provide the same level of services to region 2 that we had provided to region 1. We have now amalgamated the eastern division region 2 strike team to the current ACT operations and so we had adapted Majestic Alley and Jungle into our divisional operations. We are now working in those areas just as we did within the areas here at eastern division region 1."
