posted (April 18, 2018)
A pair of brothers, 24 year-old Lamont Russell, and 20 year-old Leshawn Russell, are out on bail tonight after a woman claims that she was assaulted by one of them with a baseball bat. Another complainant claims that they ganged up on him and beat him up.

The incident happened on Sunday, April 15 in Bermudian Landing Village. Sadie Hyde told police that she was in her yard when Lamont allegedly struck her to the side of the head with an aluminum baseball bat. Her son, George Hyde, told police that when he stopped by a nearby shop, he was assaulted by the brothers.

Police investigated their complaint, and Lamont was charged with aggravated assault, while Leshawn was charged with common assault. They were arraigned before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer, where they pleaded not guilty to the charges.

They were released on bail of $1,000 each, and their case was adjourned until June 18.
