Crime on the Belize City Southside, now referred to as Eastern Division Region 1, has cooled off in the past few weeks, but the cops know that at any moment, the gang wars could flare up.
So, they're keeping a close eye on the crime hotspots, to try to sustain the calm. That's why they were in the Jane Usher Boulevard area conducting their weekly meet and greet sessions this evening.
Deputy Commissioner Chester Williams says that he want to ensure that the residents can feel more safe in their neighborhood:
Police say that residents are appreciative of their increased presence in the area.
