Man Who Allegedly Shot Cousin Awaits Fate From Court
posted (April 19, 2018)

She was shot 9 times on new year's eve 2013 - allegedly by her own cousin - but Taisha Staine survived, and, tonight, her alleged shooter, Kevaughan Staine, is awaiting a decision from the judge.

Taisha's mother, Germaine Thompson, testified that she heard a popping sound and then she looked through her window and saw a person by her gate with his back to her. She said when the person turned around she saw that it was Kevaughan. Kevaughan gave a statement from the dock in which he denied he committed the offence. Kevaughan was represented by attorney Hubert Elrington while the Crown was represented by Crown Counsel Rene  Montero.

Today, after hearing closing arguments from counsel for the Crown and Counsel for the defense, Justice Colin Williams reserved his decision for May 4.

Kevaughan Staine was recently charged with attempted murder for an incident in which he allegedly shot at a man and the man returned fire and shot him in his leg.
