Last week Friday, an 18 year old student from the Cayo District was raped. At 8:00 at night, she was hitchhiking from Belmopan to Camalote Village when a Hispanic man on a motorcycle gave her a ride. But instead of taking her to Camalote, he took her down the Valley of Peace Road and raped her. He then left her near the West Star gas station. Yesterday, Belmopan police arrested and charged 24 year old William Carabantes for rape.
