Danny Mason Back in Court For Kidnapping Charge
posted (April 23, 2018)
Today in the Belmopan Magistrate's Court Senior Magistrate, Merlene Moody heard the preliminary inquiry into a case of kidnapping against the notorious William "Danny" Mason and five of his employees, all co-accused.

Mason and crew are accused of kidnapping of a Mennonite couple. His Attorney, Herbert Panton made a lengthy submission to Senior Magistrate Merlene Moody requesting that the kidnapping charges being thrown out.

Panton argues that there were conflicting statements, and conflicting identifications, which violated the constitutional rights of the accused.

Prosecutor, Sergeant Bonifacio Rash submitted that the statements given by the Mennonite couple were sufficient to amount to a prima facie case and so the matter should be sent up to the Supreme Court for trial.

Senior Magistrate Moody will give her decision on May 7th.
