The Ambassador also discussed her a new president. For the first time in more than half a decade the president of Cuba is not a Castro. His name is Miguel Diaz Canel - and he took over form Raul Castro last week Friday. But with the new president will things change in Cuba? Well according to the Ambassador, the ideals of the revolution will continue:

Lisette Perez, Cuban Ambassador to Belize
"We have a new president. His name is Miguel Diaz Canal. This is a man that was born after the revolution. He, of course, will take over from Fidel and Raul. It means that the Cuba revolution will not break anything. We will continue our legacy. The social program that we built for the people, trying to build a better society. We can assure security for all we can assure the health services for all, we assure the free education for all. This our ideals."

"This is a continuity of the revolution, this is the continuity of generations of revolutionaries. We are happy and we are celebrating for that."
