AG in ROC On Taiwan

Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte is currently in Taiwan attending a 3-day international conference on anti-corruption

He was invited to participate in the seminar as Belize's Focal Point for the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC). There are 3 other Central American nations that's also represented at this anti-corruption conference: Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua. From the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic was also invited to attend.

At the launch of the seminar, AG Peyrefitte met with Dr. Tsai Ing-Wen, the President of the Republic of Taiwan. He gave her Maya bag, which has become a highly sought after boutique product in the US. He emphasized Belize's friendship with Taiwan, and Belize's commitment to battling corruption.

While in Taiwan, Peyrefitte will be meeting with other Taiwanese dignitaries, including the Minister of Justice, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Director General of the Agency against Corruption.
