KHMH, Still In “Emergency Mode”
posted (April 25, 2018)
In mid-March the KHMH went into emergency mode after the roof started falling over the X-Ray area. Since then, nothing much has changed - and the roof structure over a third of the hospital continues to be propped up by dozens of iron supports.

A press release from the Hospital today says, quote, "our service capacity remains limited as we proceed to enact urgent structural strengthening measures to our facility. This has placed us in emergency mode for the past 7 weeks. During this time, we have postponed elective services and an abbreviated clinic schedule has been announced. We remind the public that we are not performing ANY private cases and that all payments for services at the KHMHA should only be made to cashiers inside the facility." End quote.

The last sentence would seem to have more to do with ongoing labour issues than it has to do with the structural problems. The KHMH has fired at least two doctors in the past month - we know that one of them was accused of taking private payment for services conducted on the public dime.
