Southern Murder Trial Ends In “Nolle Pros”
posted (April 25, 2018)
Another murder trial has ended in a nolle-pros - leaving the alleged killer to walk free. This one happened today before Justice Hanomansingh in Dangriga Supreme Court. That's where 33 year old Orlando Ciedos got off the charge of murder against 21 year old Edilsar Juarez.

The Crown was relying on a confession statement Ciedos had made to the police. But Ciedos told his attorney, Leeroy Banner that he gave the statement under duress because he was beaten by the police and Banner indicated to the court that he was going to challenge the statement. As a result, Senior Crown Counsel Christelle Wilson entered a nolle pros motion, indicating that the Crown does not wish to proceed to trial.

The murder occurred on October 9, 2016, in Bella Vista Village, Toledo. Juarez was sharing an apartment with Ciedos and some other persons and he allegedly hacked Juarez to death with a machete. There was no eye witness evidence.
