And while Saldivar met with the mothers, yesterday Executive members of the Public Service Union and the National Trade Union Congress of Belize met with a visiting team from the Organization of American States Technical Secretariat for The Implementation of the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption.
The Unions made a joint presentation to the team on recommendations made to the Government of Belize in 2008 by the OAS on the Issues of Government Hiring and filling of vacancies in the Public Service; training, remuneration and probity of Public Officers, Open Vote and Contract Workers.
According to a release, both unions expressed disappointment that after many years the Government has done very little to follow up on their recommendations.
