Police Seeking Suspects In Rosado Murder

Police also discussed their investigation into Monday's murder of business man, Oscar Rosado Sr.

The 70 year-old was killed in a broad-daylight robbery turned murder at his business place, Rosado's Construction Supplies, which is at the junction of Partridge Street and the George Price Highway.

As we told you, 3 men went into the shop pretending to return some nails.  The gunman held up Rosado's wife, Elena realized that main culprit was trying rob them, but before she could warn her husband, he held her up at gunpoint. Coming to her rescue, Oscar Rosado Sr., shoved the gunman, who shot him twice in the face, killing him inside his store.

Here's what the cops had to say about the case today:

"Investigations has indicated that sometime shortly before the incident 3 individuals came into the business and ordered some items. They left and returned shortly after - there was an attempt to relieve Mr. Rosado of his licensed firearm and there was a struggle and 2 shots were fired and one of them was fatal. That matter is under investigation, police are seeking 3 individuals in regard to that incident."

"We understand that in the process of fleeing this scene of crime, these 3 individuals came to contact with a pair of police officers in the vicinity of this incident and gun fire erupted. Can you speak to whether or not the officers were able to identify any of these 3 individuals concerning the fact that all 3 made good their escape?"

"The investigation is ongoing, we are looking into whatever witnesses we have. I don't have any details in regards to the cross fire between any of the assailant and any officer."

"Were the expended shells discovered on the scene of the shooting, this would be in the front of the city council office. Were these attributable to the police firing shots at the assailants or vice versa?"

"I don't have any details in regards which weapons those extended shells came from - the investigation is ongoing."

Police had initially detained a 19 year-old man for investigation, but so far, they still have not arrested anyone for Rosado's murder.
