Belizeans will vote on the ICJ in about a year's time. Cabinet today decided that the referendum to decide whether or not Belize should take the territorial dispute to the International Court of Justice in the Hague will be held on Wednesday, April 10th, 2019.
That's exactly 345 days from now - and government says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will now ramp up its public awareness campaign under the banner - "ICJ, Be Informed." A press release says quote, "The nationwide campaign will include various approaches in an effort to reach citizens in every corner of the country."
25% of the Guatemalan electorate voted an emphatic yes to the ICJ on April 15th.
