Tonight, 21 year-old Jefferson Jacobo, a Salvadoran of Freetown Road, is at Belize Central Prison after being taken to court for allegedly trying to kill his girlfriend and another man.
Police say that on Friday, he went home and found his girlfriend, Joslyn Duarte, in a compromising situation with another man, later identified as Manuel Acosta.
Here's what the cops had to say about the case when the media asked about it:

"On Saturday the 28th of April, just after 3 in the morning. Police visited the KHMH where they observed Joselin Duarte a 20 year old Belizean/Honduran of 7 Freetown Road with a stab womb to the left upper shoulder and one to the left upper wrist. She was being treated at the time where they also observed Manuel Jesus Acosta a 21 year old Belizean of the Freetown Address. He had several stab wounds to the body. What police gathered so far is that both Duarte and the other male person Mr. Acosta were inside a room on Freetown when the boyfriend of the female came in and there was an altercation between them which resulted in him stabbing the male and female. We understand that he attempted to flee from Belize City and boarded a bus. Quick police response led to the apprehension of Jefferson Jacobo. He was on a Westline bus enrooted to Belmopan when he was detained and upon inspection of his person, police also observed that he had an injury to one of his fingers. He was admitted at the hospital and is still there. He has been charged for attempted murder and use of deadly means of armed persons. He is presently still under guard at the KHMH."
Jacobo was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford on 2 counts of attempted murder, 1 count of dangerous harm, and 2 counts of use of deadly means of harm.
Senior Magistrate Ford remanded him to the Belize Central Prison, and he will be taken back to court on June 29.
