Today Sahar Vasquez found out that Mcfoy was just a hardworking man who stayed away from trouble - but, last night, deadly trouble came looking for him.

Sahar Vasquez reporting
Last night the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Toronto Raptors in an overtime thriller. Fans all over enjoyed the intensely competitive game.

Thirty-year-old Owen Mcfoy was one of them but the difference between Mcfoy and others is that the thirty-year-old will never know the outcome of the game because he was murdered.

Mcfoy went over to his neighbour's house and was enjoying the game outside in this yard with his friends from the area. When halftime came around everyone scurried off to eat before the game restarted.

Mcfoy was walking down the steps about to leave to eat with his wife at his house across the street when death met him. Two gunmen jumped out of the bushes and unleashed bullet after bullet on him. He died before he could reach the hospital.

His family is now left in a state of disbelief. They cannot comprehend why their Owen was taken from them so soon. Mcfoy grew up on Euphrates Avenue in Belize City - but lived a quiet life in Hattieville. He was a steady, working man who never got into gang activity. Speaking off camera, his brother describes him as just a friendly, hardworking man that stayed away from any kind of trouble and.

"No gang banging or nothing like that everyone that knows him knows the loving type of person he is."

"What happened is because my mom lives in the areas he knew them and would talk to them but he never hung out with them or joined any gang."

Owen Mcfoy spent seven years working alongside his big brother and wife at the Salvation Army food pantry. His brother will always remember his little brother as the nicest guy he ever knew.

Austin Crawford, Brother of Deceased
"He was just a nice loving guy. He would never shout and anyone or treat them wrongly. Even if you do something to him he will come and still help you."

"The most things is that if I sent him anything I could always depend on him once he got it."

His family was sure they would get a lifetime of memories with him but they did not even get half. Now his big laugh and calm demeanor will just be a ghost in their lives.

Area residents say they saw two assailants running off after hearing 6 to 8 shots.

Reports from the area suggest that it is a case of mistaken identity - and that the gunmen were looking for two other males from the area who were not there at the time. It is of note that McFoy has a cousin who is a prominent figure in a well-known city gang. One of the suspects being sought by police is linked to a rival gang.

Mcfoy leaves behind a wife and three young children along with a host of other family members. He worked at the Food Pantry program at Salvation Army.
