"So with that event, the round table is connected to that month?"

Lejia Melanie Gideon
"Yes it's the first activity and again a partnership with the director general in export to CARICOM and the whole purpose about it is to bring veterans exported into CARICOM to share their experiences with the newbies who want to export. One of the functions of Beltraide is to diversify the amount of export products as well as exporters into the market."

Tricia Gideon, CMSE - Focal Point
"We are dealing with the private sector to highlight the market opportunities that they can tap into. We've noticed that many of them are requesting certain goods that we could supply in the region and we're not so we're looking to private sectors to see what are some of the challenges that we have that they can't meet some of these export opportunities. We're also looking at the logistic issues and how we as a department ministry and support them in moving forward."

"Since it's the first day of the national competitiveness month, it is also where we have decided to showcase and make more awareness of women in business. A given example is SBDC which is a technical unit which many Belizeans know, 60% of our clients are women. The next technical unit is export Belize. Only 4 of our clients are female owned, so we decided that in order to make it more comfortable and more aware of females in the business field and in particular in high growth companies, we've decided to have for the first time a female business ambassador. We'll be presenting her today, it's a volunteer position where it's a dynamic charismatic female who is been growing her business. She's dynamic and getting ready to export and we're going to launch today."

There is also a month of activities to promote Competitiveness month.
