Price Alley Fire Is Costly

On Friday a family of 11 lost their home in a vicious blaze. The fire happened minutes before midnight. The owner of the home 40-year-old Andrew Fuller woke up to the smell of smoke coming from the side of his home. He urgently called the fire department but by the time they got there the damage had already been done. According to Station Officer Smith, there were two structures on the property and one of them was an abandoned lot. That is where the fire started.

"We had 2 units responded to that location. On arrival at the scene, found was 2 wooden structures fully engulfed in flames. Following a brief sized up the fire department went into operation extinguishing that fire. As a result of that fire both structures were destroyed. Preliminary investigation revealed the fire originated from a structure that was 10 by 20 in size, elevated some 6 feet off ground, owned by a person who resides within the US. That structure, we understand had no occupant and no utility. The smaller structure behind it was occupied by a family of 11 that were left without a home as a result of this fire."

"What can you tell us about the cause of the fire?"

"The fire originated on the south side of the structure. We could not locate an ignition source within the area of origin. It was explained to us that the structure was utilized by, who tend to occupy the structure from time to time."

"So, you are saying the fire started in that abandon building."

"Correct, the fire originated from the abandoned structure."

"The family of 11, they lost everything."

"As a result of the fire, yes."

The home was not insured and no one was injured. The investigation into the exact cause continues.
